      Market Overview

The pound's strength is being supported by improving UK economic data. On 15 October, sterling rose after UK GDP unexpectedly expanded by 0.1% in August, beating economists' expectations of a 0.1% contraction. Growth was driven partly by computer programming activity, potentially reflecting continued investment associated with artificial intelligence. This resilience has strengthened expectations that the Bank of England could raise interest rates, with markets anticipating a possible 25-basis-point hike on 5 November.Meanwhile, the US dollar has weakened as Treasury yields declined and Federal Reserve officials signalled that policymakers may need more time to assess inflation and the economic effects of monetary tightening. This combination has supported GBP/USD and makes selling prematurely dangerous. The proposed 1.3340 entry is therefore best treated as a resistance-rejection strategy rather than a prediction that sterling must fall.
The critical macroeconomic question is whether the market has already priced in the UK's stronger data and a less hawkish Federal Reserve. If those expectations are fully reflected in the exchange rate, profit-taking near resistance could trigger a pullback. If fresh buying continues, however, the pair could break higher despite appearing overextended.

      Market Sentiment

Short-term sentiment is bullish for sterling, which creates a meaningful risk for this SELL position. GBP/USD has advanced more than 1% over two sessions, while the dollar has weakened broadly. The rally reflects both improving UK fundamentals and reduced demand for the US currency, rather than a purely technical rebound.
Nevertheless, technical resistance near 1.3341 provides a possible location for sellers to test the strength of the rally. ActionForex identifies this Fibonacci retracement level as a key intraday barrier; rejection followed by a break below 1.3230 would preserve a bearish interpretation, whereas a decisive break above 1.3341 would increase the probability of a stronger bullish reversal toward 1.3469.
For M15 execution, the preferred signal is a failed breakout above 1.3340, followed by a bearish candle close and a lower high. Do not sell simply because the price has risen quickly. Strong momentum can remain elevated longer than expected, and a confirmed breakout could force short sellers to cover their positions.

      Technical Analysis

      GBP/USD at 1.3340: Can Resistance Trigger a Sterling Pullback?_1
Bollinger Bands (20,0,2): Live M15 band values could not be independently verified. Look for price to touch or move above the upper band near 1.3340, then close back inside the envelope. A flattening middle band would support a potential pullback. If the bands expand upward and candles repeatedly close near the upper band, bullish momentum remains dominant and the SELL should be reconsidered.
Ichimoku Kinko Hyo (9,26,52): Current M15 Tenkan-sen, Kijun-sen and Kumo values are unavailable. The preferred bearish signal is a break below the Tenkan-sen followed by a move beneath the Kijun-sen, ideally with the cloud acting as resistance. If price remains above a bullish cloud, the broader short-term structure still favours buyers.
Stochastic (5,3,3): Wait for a bearish crossover from the upper region near 1.3340. Confirmation is stronger if the crossover coincides with a failed resistance breakout and a bearish candle close. If the oscillator remains elevated while price continues making higher highs, avoid entering against accelerating momentum.
The immediate resistance reference is 1.3341, with 1.3311 as a nearby level from the latest technical assessment. Support around 1.3245 and 1.3224 becomes relevant if selling pressure develops. These levels are reference points from published market analysis, not verified live M15 indicator readings.
